Christmas dreams and prayers come true

December 26th, 2009

What a great Christmas 2009 was been. I got to celebrate some great times with my three daughters this Christmas. I have lived in Dallas metro area since 1980. We do not get much, and most of the time no snow in the winter.  The area got a real treat this Christmas we had our first white Christmas since 1926.

I grew up, lived in Youngstown, Ohio, and have seen many White Christmases. I was dreaming of a white Christmas just like the one I use to have.  Dream do come true, sometimes it takes a while. You just have to be patience.

It started to snow on Christmas Eve we got about four inches of snow. My three draughts and I built a snowman had a couple of snowball fights on Christmas day. The things that kids, and kids at heart like to do when it snows.  I got to celebrate a white Christmas with my three daughters their first white Christmas ever. I was able to relive my Christmas experiences through the eyes of my children. What a great gift.

Children are so inquisitive.  My three daughters are always asking me about my childhood. I was the oldest of four children. I had three sisters no brothers. When I was younger, I prayed for ten baby brothers. As of December 24th, I am still the oldest of four children.

I received a great gift from my oldest daughter she is 8 years old. It was a complete surprise to my wife and me. On Christmas day, my oldest child hands me a gift a shoebox wrap in Plain brown paper bag she decorated with Christmas drawing she drew. Inside the box were 10 paper dolls with all boys’ names on them. As I open the box, my daughter says Merry Christmas Daddy and exclaims now you have your ten brothers. Another long time prayer and dream comes true.

Be careful what you tell your children because they remember what you say. Read to your children because that is something they will never forget and will always be thankful for.

Christmas a time for giving and caring

December 11th, 2009

My three daughters are growing up. It is a great time when your children give Santa Claus a list of all the toys that they want. Their joy and excitement is contagious.  It is a magical time of the year. It is a time of caring and giving. It is not just about receiving gifts. Christmas is a time for giving and thinking about others. It is so neat to see my children developing into caring individuals. They are excited about receiving gifts. They are just as excited about what they are going to give each other for Christmas. Their excited about buying a toy for a child in need. It is so exciting to see my daughters learning the true meaning of Christmas.

My special friends are my three daughters

November 7th, 2009

This is my story of why and how I became an Author. Without my daughter’s help, I would have never written this book. When my oldest child was 18 months old, my wife and I had twin girls. At a young age, I would read to my daughters. They would be turning the pages of the book before I had finished reading that page because they were more interested in the pictures that were on the next page. From what I was reading and looking at the pictures, I would make up the story.  Half joking with my wife I told her I could write a children’s book. From that joke came this book. I wanted to write a story that would be entertaining and convey a moral message. That message is of forgiveness and giving other a second chance. I wrote and illustrated my book “Friends are Special”. I will always be thankful to my daughters for helping me launch a new path in my life.  In reading to them, I know that I have launched a new path for them. I dedicated my book to my daughter’s, my very special friends.
